Join our Friends Asking Friends program. Whether you are participating in the 13th Annual Komen NENY Race for the Curẻ or are supporting from the sidelines, you can help us fight the battle against breast cancer by collecting donations from family members, friends and co-workers.
Komen Northeastern New York Affiliate Donations
As a supporter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Northeastern New York Affiliate, you make a difference in the lives of thousands of families in the Affiliate's district. With your continued generosity, we can work to fulfill our mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Below are some giving strategies that we hope fit into your charitable budget.
Cash - You can become part of the fight against breast cancer by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to support our work at the Komen Northeastern New York Affiliate. Donations can be made in memory or in honor of someone. A special card will be sent to them or their family in recognition of your gift. Please use our Donation Form to make your contribution. (Adobe Acrobat 4.0 or higher is needed to view and print these forms. You can download a free copy of Adobe now if you need one.)
Company-sponsored matching gift programs - Many companies will match charitable contributions up to a specified amount. Check with your Human Resources department. If your company does not offer such a program, suggest that they contact us to develop a matching program at info@albanyraceforthecure.com.
Host an event - From store openings and previews to restaurants and sporting events, we continue to benefit from many local corporations and business entities. Many special events generate a financial charitable benefit from ticket sales and/or a percentage of sales. Please turn your next special event into a charitable cause and combine efforts with us to build customer loyalty by joining the fight against breast cancer. Bequests - You may make a bequest to the Komen Northeastern New York Affiliate in your estate plan. Gifts made through wills may be an appropriate way to make a substantial contribution to the Affiliate upon your death while retaining your assets during your lifetime. Planned gifts, such as bequests, may help eliminate or reduce your federal taxes.
Here is suggested language that will aid your attorney in drawing up a bequest to the Affiliate (note that the Affiliate's federal tax identification number is available upon e-mail request to info@albanyraceforthecure.com): I hereby give and bequeath to the Northeastern New York Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, federal I.D. number 75-2854968, the sum of $_____ dollars OR ____% of the remainder of my estate.
